Bowie by O’Neill | Limited Edition (500)

In this deluxe book, Terry O’Neill collaborated with Red Engine’s Art Director Des Curran to painstakingly cull the archive of O’Neill’s Bowie photography and curated a book that breaks the boundary of traditional publishing. By incorporating multiple inserts, design crops and colourisation, BOWIE BY O’NEILL becomes more than just a book of photography – but a book that stands alone as a piece of art.

Inside an orange-silk presentation box, a specially commissioned bas-relief portrait of Bowie, inspired by O’Neill’s work, rests on top of this glorious 288 – page deluxe book. Printed by the prestigious Italian fine art publisher Errestampa, BOWIE BY O’NEILL contains more than 180 photos. Using the images as inspiration, several collaborators with unique talents were commissioned exclusively for this book to reimagine and recolour some of Terry’s classic photographs.

Each book comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity along with two unique limited edition Terry O’Neill prints, one of Elizabeth Taylor with David Bowie and one of William Burroughs with David Bowie, an image thought to be lost until just recently when a packet of negatives was discovered whilst compiling work for this publication.
