The Art of Aero™ Exhibition takes its design inspiration from only recently declassified, highly confidential images used by the Williams Racing™ Aero Development Team as a vital part of their car design process and, for the first time as an artwork, makes this invisible force visible.
Ransom in Collaboration with Williams and Blueshift GP launch ‘The Art Of Aero’
Williams has collaborated with Blueshift GP to create a stunning new collection of artworks, inspired by aerodynamic images from Williams, which launches today at the Ransom Gallery in London.
Using previously confidential imagery from Williams’ computational fluid dynamic (CFD) designs as inspiration, the artworks combine engineering expertise and art to create this truly unique and stunning collection.
The artworks feature CFD images from the FW35 and before, and detail how the airflow around a car can be simulated. With Blueshift GP’s input, the result is a collection of beautiful images inspired by never before seen imagery.
The exhibition will be on display for the general public at Ransom Gallery, 105 Pimlico Road, London, SW1W 8LS from 16th – 31st March 2017.

“One night I took Ava Gardner to Ronnie Scott’s. We got thrown out because she was rather rude, heckling the band. Well she had been married to the greatest – Frank Sinatra. I told her I wanted to photograph him so she wrote this letter and gave it to me, by way of introduction. To this day I don’t know what she said in it. But it was why I landed the greatest photograph in my archive. I flew to Miami where Frank was making a film with a young actress called Raquel Welch – The Lady in Cement. I was walking up the boardwalk with the letter in my pocket, to his hotel, hoping I could get past security, when he suddenly appeared, walking towards me with his entourage on his way to the film set. I just got off a few quick shots and handed him the letter. Remember he was still in love with Ava, I believe he never stopped loving her even though they were divorced. He ripped it open, read it, stuffed it in his pocket and turned to his minders and said “this kid’s with me.” – Terry O’Neill
In the month of December 2014, Ransom Art presented a tasteful collection of photographs by Terry O’Neill which was displayed and celebrated in the beautiful setting at the Grace Belgravia club.
